hi.happy new year. so the global economy might have gone to the washroom, but there are a gadzillion other things for which we can be hopeful and grateful in 2009.
one of them being the high profile world future energy summit, 19-21 jan, abu dhabi. the summit slated to be one of the largest meeting of influential figures within the renewable energy industry.
we are there! on display at our pavilion (stand 5410, hall 5) will be a mélange of some of the technological innovations, that address the world’s ever increasing energy needs in a responsible manner.
as always we would be utilizing this arena to share our thoughts with the world on key issues confronting technology and energy. prof. hermann requardt, chief technology officer, Siemens AG, will be speaking at the keynote session on ‘technology solutions for energy challenges’.
other eminent speakers would include dr.rené umlauft, ceo Siemens energy renewable energy division, johannes schmidt, ceo equity and project finance, in addition to eight leading experts from the Siemens global network.all of them delving into their respective areas of expertise, to give everyone present a perspective of the future of energy through wide ranging topics as energy supply; carbon capture and storage; green it; energy efficient lighting; photovoltaic (solar) solutions; sustainable urban infrastructures; intelligent power management; energy efficient drive technologies; and wind power technologies.

Hi,
Hope the energy summit at Abu Dhabi was a exhilarating experience.
As we all know, with the population explosion and mass industrialization in near future we wil have to face acute energy crisis, and its high time for us to look for the alternatives.
Now the market for renewable energy sources is quite nascent. And their is very high potential for Siemens to be a market leader in it.
Please do share the outcome of the Summit in Abu Dhabi. I am working in PTD-EA dept of Siemens, and this information can help us to think innovatively in the same line.
Thanks,
Regards,

Hey, I am an engineering student (3rd year) and Siemens is one of the companies that leave me in absolute awe - some of your work is absolutely stellar. In essence, one of my ‘dream’ companies.
I have been following the WFES summit closely and I think it is crucial for the big fish - such as Siemens - to make sure any unit that does business with them - makes an effort to go green - and if the climate and regime permits maybe you could compel your customers too.
What does Siemens think about Compressed Biogas - an extremely innovative concept I came across recently? However, the usage of the same will require better carbon sequestering techniques.
