Presenters from Siemens Infrastructure Logistics shared two unique product development programs in their presentation to the analysts today. The first dealt with postal service logistics and the second with baggage handling systems. Here are some highlights and a video.
John Sears, senior business system analyst for Siemens Infrastructure’s PLM and Enterprise tools group, called us "a good homebuilder.”
He said when they made their PLM decision years ago, three vendors dropped out of the process when they saw their complex requirements.
Key criteria were the ability to model complex parts and huge assembly models, flexibility with parametric modeling options and vendor support. He noted in the years they’ve worked with Siemens PLM, our support has been an important aspect of the relationship.
Martin Wentzel in system architecture for Siemens Infrastructure shared in this video some of the highlights from his presentation.
For baggage handling and logistics, they’ve implemented a modular product concept. They are focused on improving internal efficiency, reducing of risk, reduce extra-costs due to engineering mistakes
