In the video clip above, Kim Green - owner & CEO of Andretti Green Racing - reviews some highlights from his presentation. He notes how PLM enabled them to cut down testing time from 50 days to just 5-10. He also shares how PLM helps them reduce friction and thus increase speed on projects such as steering wheel redesign. Finally he notes some new technologies they are considering in their ongoing quest for speed.
Kim has quite a passion for racing that began when he was just a kid in Australia. He’s come a long way from racing on a track his father built on the family farm to managing a world-class racing operation. He notes that 90% of their work is done before you ever get to the race track. Unlike many of the large enterprise customers in the audience, Kim deals with low-volume production where everything is manufactured in house. Small design changes like they made in the steering wheel example above can help them pick up a mile-per-hour on lap times. And sometimes that is the difference to win.
If you want more detail on Andretti Green’s use of our software, here’s a case study.
