Integrating mechanical, electronic and electrical components is crucial to today’s products. Aerospace, automotive, consumer goods, high-tech electronics, machinery, and medical device manufacturers are challenged to transform their development processes to concurrent design and systems engineering methods that support collaboration among diverse disciplines.
Razvan Panaitescu of Siemens Energy and Automation, presented at PLM Connection a case study on linking PLM and Automation Design. I caught up with him after his presentation for this short interview.
Razvan presented a case study of how a customer design in NX was validated and optimized to ensure that it performed within the design parameters. Below are some key slides from his presentation.
Razvan emphasized that real-time information sharing between electrical, mechanical, and control systems designers is essential to delivering innovative, high-quality products on time and under budget.
This is just another example of how the Siemens customers can achieve benefits along the entire lifecycle of machines or plants – from engineering to operation, expansion and modernization. Totally Integrated Automation allows interplay of all integrated automation components in your enterprise and thus allows continuous manufacturing optimization.
