Chris Biddle (Manufacturing Systems Executive) from Rolls-Royce plc talked about their approach to connect the top floor to the shop floor using PLM.
In the past Rolls Royce was running 100s of custom systems and interfaces. Their goal is to reduce this to four enterprise systems: ERP, SDM – service data management, MES and PLM.
They are currently working on the CAPP project (Computer Aided Process Planning) and closing the loop from planning to shop floor and back.
